If I loaded more than three rounds in the mag, two rounds would leave the mag tube when I pumped the gun, jamming it all. It has a parkerized heavy wall barrel, metal safety and trigger group. It has been proven over decades of testing and use under harsh conditions.

I have 3 Winchester Model 12's, but I want something new that I can take afield in all weather and have the convenience of screw in chokes. I seem to have narrowed it down to a choice between the Benelli Nova or the Weatherby.Stoeger P3000 and P3500. Stoeger recently added two budget-minded pump guns to its lineup, the P3000 and P3500. The first is built to handle 3-inch loads and the second can cycle 3 1/2-inch magnums. These bargain-priced pumps feature a rotary bolt as well as interchangeable choke tubes and a fiber-optic front sight.Saw a post that said Remington 870 was akin to the Mossberg 500. The 870 is inexpensive, the 500 is cheap. There is a difference. My dad's been shooting competition level trap with an old, beat up, scratched up, rusty 870 for over 20 years. You also might be interested in the capacity, the Benelli is 4+1 (though there is at least one mag extenstion that bumps it to 6+1).

There are better stock options (pistol grip or ComforTech) on the SuperNova than the Nova (where the receiver and stock are one piece). You should be able to find a SuperNova for roughly $450. It's probably the best pump on the market. Andrew.
