I am looking for a gas piston rifle and thought about getting a MCX but when I started looking at them, I kept hearing about Gen 1, 2, and now 3 and how parts from the Virtus don't interchange with the Legacy.Comparison of upper receivers of old and new MCX The old and new uppers of the MCX use different handguards due to the length of the new Virus being about two inches shorter. The Virtus will run cleaner suppressed and can adjust gas on the fly, has slightly better ballistics (1.2 longer barrel), can fire in the folded position but it is heavier. But I have had discussion with Sig CS in the past that indicated a standard mil-spec trigger would work as well.
