Mar 14, 2014 · Buddy has a Marlin 60 that is not functioning properly. We both suspect that the bolt/carrier track is just filthy and needs a good deep cleaning. He has been unable to determine how to disassemble the bolt group. Any help would be appreciated. Thanx. Take the stock off and put it aside. Hold the action over a bucket and saturate the action with chloride free brake cleaner. It's doubtful you'll be able to get your 60 shooting as accurately as a 10/22 with an aftermarket bull barrel. Most aftermarket bull barrels have Bentz or modified Bentz chambers which are much tighter than a stock .22LR barrel which helps tremendously in the accuracy dept.Take out the 4 main screws in the bottom. The barrel/receiver should drop right out of the stock. From there, heavily oil everything inside the receiver and scrub it to death with a toothbrush. The toughest part are the edges inside the action.
